Abstract

The digital transformation of military education is changing not only the way the learning process is organized but also the demands placed on cadets’ psychological resilience and adaptive capacity. Regular engagement with electronic learning platforms, digital simulators, and intelligent tutoring systems increases the information load and requires future officers to maintain concentration, exercise self-control, and act independently. In this article, we examine how the digital learning environment affects the hardiness of military university cadets and explore the role of cognitive autonomy, individual characteristics, and psychophysiological mechanisms in their adaptation. A theoretical and analytical review of domestic and international research suggests that successful adaptation to new training conditions involves more than simply mastering digital tools. The ability to remain resilient and perform effectively under high cognitive load is equally important. Cognitive autonomy and the functional state of the body play a significant role in this process. Heart rate variability provides an objective means of assessing regulatory strain and adaptive resources, thereby expanding the potential for effective psychophysiological support of cadets. Under these conditions, hardiness can be regarded as one of the key resources for adaptation to the modern educational environment. Combining psychological assessment with objective psychophysiological measures provides a deeper understanding of future officers’ adaptive capacity and can contribute to improving military professional training, psychophysiological support, and psychological assistance for cadets.
