The article reveals the potential and possibilities of a systematic approach as a methodological basis for studying the problem of forming the historical consciousness of cadets based on the national values of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In order to reveal the essence of the system approach, definitions of the concepts "methodology", "approach", "methodological approach", "system" and "system approach" are given by different authors. To determine the structure of the process of forming the historical consciousness of cadets based on the national values of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the components and elements of this process were identified. The basic concepts, principles and methods of a systematic approach that make up the elements of the model for the formation of the historical consciousness of cadets based on the national values of the Republic of Kazakhstan were also described. The article was prepared as part of a dissertation research and research funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Grant no. AR196113/0222).
