This study examines the history of the formation, evacuation, organizational development, and activities of the 2021 Central Chemical Depot of the The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics Navy, and later of the Republic of Kazakhstan, from the beginning of the Great Patriotic War until the depot’s liquidation in 2015. Special attention is given to the reasons for evacuating chemical assets to the eastern territories of the The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics due to the advance of German forces, the process of relocating the depot to the Amankaragay station, the organization of temporary and permanent storage facilities for chemical materials, as well as the construction and equipping of the depot complex, including residential and utility facilities for the personnel.
