Abstract

The article is devoted to solving the urgent problem of discrepancy between existing views on fire control of artillery formations and the nature of special operations, requirements for fire control, and implementation of maximum fire capabilities of artillery formations. In the study, a mortar battery is identified as a cybernetic mass service system when performing fire missions. Which made it possible to apply mass service methods and techniques for its theoretical and analytical study. Based on the data obtained, it was revealed that with the existing organizational and staff structure of a mortar battery, compliance with the established fire control rules for the commander (operator), the recommended norm for the number of requests is exceeded. Some recommendations for improving fire control are given.
