FUNDAMENTALS OF THE THEORY OF MILITARY POLITICAL SITUATION FORECASTING

Abstract

This article examines the fundamentals of the theory of forecasting the military-political situation (hereinafter referred to as the MPS). Based on an analysis of the theory of MPS forecasting, it has been established that it constitutes one of the stages of the management process in developing the political and military strategy for ensuring the state's military security. It is used to assess the development of the military-political situation in the world and in its individual regions. As a rule, military-political forecasting is carried out within the framework of military planning. Military-political forecasting (hereinafter referred to as MPF) (from the Greek prognosis – foresight) is a specialized scientific study of the main trends and prospects for the development of the military-political situation, aimed at preventing possible wars and armed provocations against the state, assessing the probability of their occurrence, and developing specific practical recommendations for incorporating these assessments into military strategy and tactics.
