World «wars» for fresh water: realities and prospects

Abstract

The article presents the results of systematic studies of water conflicts occurring in different regions of our planet. The role and place of fresh water in the life support and vital activity of people are emphasized. The main factors influencing the change in the state and reduction of the planet's water resources are analyzed. The contradiction underlying water conflicts of various kinds is formulated, which can lead to the outbreak of military conflicts between countries, including those with nuclear weapons, due to the problematic use of transnational water resources. The main water conflicts and the causes of their occurrence are investigated. Based on the results of the presentation of the material, the necessary conclusions are made.
