This article is about cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation in the military and military-political sphere both within the framework of the international organizations of the SCO and the CSTO and within the framework of bilateral interaction between the two states. There is given a brief analysis of studies on the topic of military-political relations between the two states. The author briefly examines the military cooperation of Kazakhstan with other countries, for example, interaction with NATO in the Partnership for Peace program. The article focuses on the military-political interaction between Kazakhstan and Russia on the example of the deployment of the CSTO forces to Kazakhstan in January 2022. The article shows that the location of seven large Russian military facilities on the territory of Kazakhstan is a cooperation in the military sphere. It was also said that Russia is the largest supplier of weapons and military equipment to Kazakhstan, the training of military personnel in Russian military universities. The connection between the two states in uranium
projects was touched upon. The article draws conclusions about the importance and pragmatism of cooperation, which makes it possible to judge its sufficient margin of safety. It is especially important to carry out coordinated actions of the CSTO and the SCO in peacekeeping activities to ensure regional security.
